The Pharisees blame the disciples for eating with unwashen hands, 7 1 John After these things Jesus walked in Galilee ; for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. Mat. Then came to Jesus Scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem. Mar. Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the Scribes, which came from Jerusalem. Mar. And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled (that is to say, with unwashen) hands, they found fault. For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups and pots, brazen vessels, and of tables. Mar. Fhen the Pharisees and the Scribes asked him, According to the tradition of the elders, Mat. Saying, Why do thy disciples transgress Mar. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Mat. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your own tradition? " Mat. For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: And, he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. Mar. For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother: And, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death. Mar. Thefts, false witness, blasphemies. Mar. For from within out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolish ness: Mar. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. 1 Mat. These are the things which defile a man: Mat. But to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man. Sect. 65. Jesus cures the woman of Canaan's daughter, in the country of Tyre and Sidon. Mat. Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts Ta sgn, the parts, the country) of Tyre and Sidon. Mar. The second miraculous dinner is given on a mountain near the sea of Galilee. Mat. And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unte (ag) the sea of Galilee, and went up into a moantain, and sat down there. And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet, and he healed them: Insomuch that the multitude wondered when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. Mat. Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, Mar. And saith unto them, I have compassion on the multitude, Because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat. Mat. And said, I have compassion on the multitude, Because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat. Mat. And I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. Mar. And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way. Mar. For divers of them came from far. Mar. And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man Satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness? Mat. And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we Mat. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky, but can ye not disceru the signs of the times? Mar. And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? Mat. A wicked and an adulterous generation seeketh after la sign. Mar. Verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given to this generation. Mat. And there shall be no sign given unto it, Mat. But the sign of the prophet Jonas. Mat. And he left them, and departed. Mar. And he left them, and entering into the ship again, departed to the other side. And |
