THIS little Work is offered as a help to those who desire to fulfil our Saviour's command-"Search the Scriptures;" and it is earnestly hoped it may afford them many happy and profitable hours of study of the Word of God. It is also hoped that it may assist those who are engaged in the Scriptural instruction of others; parents with their children-masters and mistresses with their servants-Sunday School teachers with their scholars. "The Well is deep," and, therefore, must the Water be drawn up with earnest effort: but in the effort is pleasure; for the promise of our God is, "With joy shall ye draw water from the wells of salvation."-ISAIAH xii. 3.
